A couple of weeks ago, Team Prophix participated in the 13th annual Meagan’s Walk in support of the Hospital for Sick Children and pediatric brain cancer research. The 5 km walk stretches from Fort York in Toronto to Sick Kids Hospital and I’m proud to announce that Team Prophix raised over $400 dollars!
It was a beautiful, sunny day, which began at Fort York with music, zumba dancing, face painting, and activities for the kids. The walk brought together many families and community organizations with the shared goal of raising awareness and funds while providing hope and support for families dealing with this unthinkable illness. The energy and encouragement from volunteers, fire fighters, paramedics and police officers along the way made this feel like a true community event. We all felt that everyone there wanted to provide as much hope and support as they could. Families walking in support of loved ones wore costumes and decorations and shared their stories.
The walk ended with over 3,000 people encircling the hospital, holding hands and waving to all the children, mothers, fathers, siblings, doctors and nurses inside.
It was a privilege for Team Prophix to take part in this special event and give back to the community for a much needed cause! I can’t wait until next year.
