Prophix attends the BARC CPM conference at Marienburg Fortress in Germany

For two days, Prophix participated in one of Germany’s largest conferences for Corporate Performance Management (CPM) software. This event was held by the Business Application Research Centre (BARC) in Würzburg.

With most CPM vendors present, Prophix made its introduction to the German market, showcasing its visionary, award-winning software. With its signature product, Prophix 11, built on the Microsoft technology Stack, Prophix attracted significant interest from the approximately 100 participants. Attendees included CFOs from large German companies as well as prominent market researchers.

Prophix sponsored the event. Our German Sales Manager, Lars Buchner, and I worked to spread the message of Prophix’s expansion into the German market.

Dr. Carsten Bange, CEO of BARC, opened the conference with an inspiring presentation on the development of the CPM market. Among many interesting points, he pointed out the difference between the global vendors, such as Prophix, and local German niche players. Dr. Bange clearly underlined the need for companies to discontinue working with complex spreadsheets and begin to investigate software that will allow them to work in integrated environments. According to Dr. Bange, such a move would quickly make financial processes better, faster, and more secure. In the process of achieving these aims, the CPM customers would also achieve impressive returns on their investments—not least due to steering the business more successfully with better data-driven processes.

Lars’s presentation about Prophix was similarly well received and exemplified the surging understanding in the German market of the opportunity to benefit from CPM software.
