A word from our CEO, Paul Barber
On Tuesday, November 13th, Bob Walker, our CTO, and I, on behalf of Prophix Software, received a Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Award for being one of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, or clean technology companies in North America. This made me immensely proud.
What made me even more proud is that Prophix is growing without the benefit of raising large amounts from outside investors. Growth by simply increasing your marketing spend is relatively easy; the more people who hear about you, the more sales you will make. But most companies that throw money at marketing are not profitable and ultimately not successful. I have seen many companies in the software business become stars overnight and then crash and burn when they run out of funds.
Prophix is growing without any institutional investors. We are growing organically, not by buying market share. We are growing because we have a great product, passionate and enthusiastic employees, and loyal and committed partners worldwide.
However, I would like to recognize our customers most of all because without them we would not be where we are today. We have great customers who use our software in many innovative ways and who contribute to our success by acting as references and giving us feedback about product enhancements. They can rest assured that Prophix will continue to innovate, deliver excellent value and help them run their businesses better.
Paul Barber
Paul Barber is the CEO of Prophix Software. He is a graduate of Cambridge University, with an MA in Mathematics, and holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. Paul has worked in the software industry for over thirty years in such areas as Decision Support Systems, Executive Information Systems, Business Intelligence, and Performance Management. His functional experience includes sales, marketing, professional services, and general management. In recent years, Paul led Prophix Software’s metamorphosis from software distributor to developer of world class Performance Management solutions.
