Recently, we were recognized by several industry analysts, independent research firms, and most importantly, our customers. Each of these reports spotlights customer feedback, with an emphasis on user satisfaction and business benefits. Prophix’s Corporate Performance Management (CPM) software was named a “visionary” by Gartner, BPM Partners, and BARC in each of their respective research reports.
In this blog, we will look at the results from three recent industry reports, all of which highlight the value Prophix offers to mid-size organizations.
BPM Partners’ Vendor Landscape Matrix Report
In June of this year, BPM Partners released their Vendor Landscape Matrix Report, which evaluates 18 Business Performance Management (BPM) vendors across 11 capabilities and 16 customer satisfaction areas. 360 companies were surveyed, and the report includes results from respondents who self-identified as users of the vendors’ respective products.
For organizations looking to address challenges with enterprise performance management, BPM’s report is an invaluable source of objective customer feedback on the industry’s leading BPM solutions.
In this year’s report, we were pleased to be recognized as a “Dominant” vendor, with “Excellent” customer satisfaction.
Prophix also earned excellent ratings for:
- Budgeting/Planning Functionality
- Financial Consolidation Functionality
- Reporting Functionality
- Customer Support
BPM assigns their “best fit tags” to vendors, which “highlight each vendor’s core strengths and key capabilities.” Prophix was awarded tags for comprehensive solution, highly flexible, minimal IT involvement, collaboration, detailed salary planning, clean/intuitive UI, powerful modeling, low TCO, and full mobile access.
The report highlights one of Prophix’s newest features – a direct Office 365 integration that gives the ability to drill live from PowerPoint. BPM also mentions several other new features in our software including “expanded performance reporting with workflow commentary, cell comments, row notes, and line item details.”
Prophix’s partnership with Viewpoint is highlighted, solidifying Prophix’s role as one of the only providers of a performance management solution tailored specifically for the construction industry.
BPM’s report also confirms that Prophix enables “detailed planning capabilities [including] complex calculation support and additional granularity down to the sub-ledger level for enhanced operational execution.” We also offer “powerful visual analytics, dashboards with expanded chart options, and a simplified UI.”
Craig Schiff, CEO of BPM Partners, recently spoke on a webinar about the report, which was hosted by IndustryWeek. During the broadcast, Craig elaborated on the importance of the Vendor Landscape Matrix Report and discussed the ever-evolving vendor landscape. BARC Planning Survey
BARC, a leading enterprise software industry analyst, published their Planning Survey which identifies the top planning software vendors. The Planning Survey is based on findings from the world‘s largest and most comprehensive survey of planning software users, conducted from November 2018 to February 2019. In total, 1,367 people responded to the survey with 1,195 answering a series of detailed questions about their use of a Prophix.
In BARC’s survey, Prophix received a top ranking for customer satisfaction and user experience in the ‘Flexible Planning Platforms’ peer group.
The BARC Planning Survey asserts that our customers benefit from a significant ‘competitive advantage and better quality of planning results’ by leveraging Prophix for ‘increased planning frequency, reduced planning complexity, more precise/detailed planning and improved integration of different sub-budgets.’
In the “User Experience” category, our CPM software scored well for “Reporting/Analysis Functionality,” “Ease-of-Use,” and “Flexibility.” Many of our customers cited “Good Coverage of Reporting/Analysis Functionality” and “Flexibility of the Software” as the primary reasons why they chose Prophix for their Office of Finance.
Overall, positive user feedback & high KPI scores contributed to Prophix’s first-in-class recommendation rate of 88 percent in BARC’s Planning Survey, which is an excellent rating for both of our peer groups.

2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant
In late 2018, Gartner released its Cloud Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis Magic Quadrant (Cloud S-FP&A MQ). For the first time, Prophix is positioned in the “Visionaries” Quadrant.
In Gartner’s report, Prophix received high scores for analytics, ease-of-use and maintenance, financial budgets and plans, and integrated financial planning/modeling.
Prophix also scored the highest in the small and midsize use cases, as well as for business units, although Prophix is more often used in the former two.
The conclusion to Gartner’s report states that Prophix should be considered when application flexibility is a high priority, especially if there are additional modeling needs in the organization.
